Susanna Moyer’s Portfolio Mentorship with ACG China

In the fast-paced fashion industry, having a mentor can shape your career in many ways. Susanna Moyer, the founder of Global Fashion Management (GFM), is one such mentor who has been making waves in the fashion industry. Recently, she sat with ACG, a Chinese educational program that helps Chinese students in art & design, to discuss the challenges of applying and creating art & design portfolios for colleges and universities around the world. With the increasing loss of art programs in high schools in China and the US, Susanna’s fashion mentorship focuses on helping young, artistic and creative students follow their passion in the fashion industry.

Art programs in high schools in both China and the US are becoming less supportive of artistic and creative students wanting to pursue degrees in art & design. This is compounded by the limited exposure these students have in the field. At such a juncture, ACG has stepped in to help these students by providing them with the right tools and guidance to create and apply art & design content to colleges and universities around the world. Susanna has been associated with SFK for the past 4 years, helping students by providing them with a bird’s eye view of the fashion industry and what is expected of aspiring professionals.

Collaborating with ACG, Susanna works with a group of talented students, providing them with opportunities to showcase their creative concept boards and designs. Many of the students who have worked with her have gone on to participate in prestigious fashion programs and have received recognition at international fashion launches. Susanna doesn’t just impart knowledge, but also teaches them life skills such as communication, networking, emotional intelligence, and resilience, which are all essential traits for success in the fashion industry.

One of the key components of Susanna’s mentorship is her focus on sustainability and ethical fashion. She aims to instill these values in her mentees and provide them with a holistic view of the fashion industry. Her mentorship emphasizes the importance of understanding the environmental and social impact of one’s actions in the fashion industry. Through her program, she urges her mentees to keep sustainability and ethics at the forefront and make conscientious choices while creating their designs.

Susanna’s mentorship doesn’t end when her mentee leaves ACG; she provides lifelong support to her mentees. She encourages them to stay in touch with her after they complete their programs and reach out to her whenever they need help. Over the years, she has built a vast network of contacts in the industry and provides her mentees with valuable connections in the fashion industry.

Susanna’s mentorship with ACG has been a game-changer for many aspiring fashion designers. With her expertise and knowledge of the industry, Susanna has helped to equip these students with the right tools and exposure to take charge of their careers in the fashion industry. Her focus on sustainability and ethical fashion has made her mentees more conscientious and socially responsible designers, which are essential traits in today's fashion industry. With her consistent efforts in fostering the next generation of fashion designers, Susanna is setting a positive example for everyone in the fashion industry.
